Registration for Correlative Microscopy Using Image Analogies
Abstract. Correlative microscopy is a methodology combining the functionality of light microscopy with the high resolution of electron microscopy and other microscopy technologies for the same biological specimen. In this paper, we propose an image registration method for correlative microscopy, which is challenging due to the distinct appearance of biological structures when imaged with di↵ere...
متن کاملA luminescent ruthenium(II) complex for light-triggered drug release and live cell imaging.
We report a novel ruthenium(II) complex for selective release of the imidazole-based drug econazole. While the complex is highly stable and luminescent in the dark, irradiation with green light induces release of one of the econazole ligands, which is accompanied by a turn-off luminescence response and up to a 34-fold increase in cytotoxicity towards tumour cells.
متن کاملMulti-modal Image Registration for Correlative Microscopy
Correlative microscopy is a methodology combining the functionality of light microscopy with the high resolution of electron microscopy and other microscopy technologies. Image registration for correlative microscopy is quite challenging because it is a multi-modal, multi-scale and multi-dimensional registration problem. In this report, I introduce two methods of image registration for correlat...
متن کاملLuminescent ruthenium probe for the determination of acetyl phosphate in complex biological matrices.
The first probe for the fluorogenic determination of acetyl phosphate (AcP), (bpy)(2)Ru(1,10-phenanthroline-5,6-dione dioxime) (RuPDO), was prepared and its reaction with AcP was studied in detail. The emission of the weakly luminescent RuPDO is red shifted and strongly enhanced upon reaction with AcP in the presence of metal cations like Zn(2+) or Cu(2+). The reaction occurs within 60 min incu...
متن کاملDifferentiating quadruplexes: binding preferences of a luminescent dinuclear ruthenium(II) complex with four-stranded DNA structures.
The interaction of luminescent dinuclear ruthenium(II) complexes containing the bridging ligand tetrapyrido[3,2-a:2',3'-c:3'',2''-h:2'',3''-j]phenazine with several intramolecular and intermolecular quadruplex DNA structures has been explored. It was found that these interactions produced distinctly different luminescence signatures. Binding curves constructed from these optical changes reveal ...
